Großarl lies in the Grossarl valley, which calls itself the “valley of the Almen” after its alpine pastures. In winter a linked ski area takes you over the mountain to Dorfgastein in the Gastein valley.

Großarl and Hüttschlag lie between the Hohe and Niedere Tauern ranges, at the gateway to the Hohe Tauern National Park. The linked ski area joins the Grossarl valley with Dorfgastein next door and has more than 70 km of pistes.

Which way do you drive to the Grossarl valley, and how long does it take?

We take the Tauern motorway to Bischofshofen, then go through St. Johann im Pongau and up the valley — about 65 minutes for the 76 km. It costs €230 per vehicle, or €58 each if four of you share.

Do you also go on to Hüttschlag?

Yes. Hüttschlag lies a little beyond Großarl, deeper in the valley. Just put your accommodation in the request and our reply will include the fixed price to Hüttschlag.

How many passengers with ski equipment fit in the vehicle?

Up to 6 passengers with suitcases and full ski equipment. Without skis up to 8 passengers. For larger groups we add a second vehicle.

How do I pay?

What if my flight is delayed?
