Westendorf sits on a sunny plateau between the Choralpe and the Brechhorn in the Brixental. A gondola takes you from the village straight up to the Talkaser and into the heart of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser–Brixental, with a direct link across to KitzSki as well.

The Kitzbühel Alps stretch from Kitzbühel through the Brixental and the Hohe Salve area to St. Johann in Tirol and the Pillerseetal. Several big ski areas sit side by side here, KitzSki around Kitzbühel among them.

Getting there: From Kitzbühel the Brixental road carries on through Kirchberg to Westendorf. Near Bad Reichenhall, at the start, you are briefly in Germany, so have your passport or ID card to hand.
