The resort

Good to know about Rauris

Rauris lies in the Rauris valley, a side valley of the Salzach in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The Rauriser Hochalmbahnen are a small, uncrowded family ski area: gondolas lift you as high as 2,175 m, where the runs are wide and treeless. Away from the slopes there are cross-country trails in the Hüttwinkl valley and snowshoe routes at Kolm Saigurn, the head of the valley.

  • 32.5 km of pistes, treeless and facing east
  • Family slope, toboggan run and the Nugget Park in the ski area
  • Guided winter tours with national park rangers

Two main valleys run through the Pinzgau, the western part of the Salzburg region: the Saalach valley with Lofer and Saalfelden, and the upper Salzach valley with Mittersill and Neukirchen am Großvenediger. Besides the Skicircus and Zell am See-Kaprun, the area has ski resorts of its own, such as the Wildkogel-Arena around Neukirchen and Bramberg.
